For the first time, in the 1815 collection, A. Lange & Söhne combined the patented stop-seconds mechanism for the tourbillon with the ZERO-RESET time-setting mechanism. On the occasion of Ferdinand Adolph Lange’s 200th birthday in 2015, the timepiece designed for superior precision was presented in a HANDWERKSKUNST edition limited to 30 watches. This stunning dial is decorated with so-called tremblage engraving. This is known as a technique in which the engraver uses a burin (a very fine-tipped chisel) to make a series of minute pinprick marks on a metal surface. For these pieces, the engraver chipped away from a solid rose gold dial, resulting in a dial that is mesmerizing and full of depth and texture.
